Druid

Old mossy protector,  King of frogs,  Stood tall with wooden scepter,  In the festering bogs,  You watch silently,  With eyes of rotten oak.  Guide my spirit quietly,  To nature like a moth to smoke.

Sweet N' Sour

Who knows what a girl could be thinking about at this hour,  Locked away with only her mind full of wonder,  It’s as though the answers are hidden behind a broken tumbler.  She wonders when curiosity will pull her under.  But there is good and bad in her mind,  And it’s the excitement of probable find,  That makes it impossible to unwind,  At such an unsuitable time.  He is no maimed devil,  And no amount of chastising metal,  Will hold back the shrieking voice of Never-Settle,  A mental rebel, a great spell, who tells of great peril.  “You wonder a lot for such a young thing like yourself,  I see you are worried but don’t fret I have a fix.  Don’t think of me as some evil elf,  I assure you, dear, forget the skeptics.  Take my especially proven potion  To stop this awful commotion, I can unlock the latch you’ve always wanted open. But you must be warned that t...

Sweet lil' Bee

Sweet little bee,  Are you happy?  Do you like spending your days,  In a heat-filled summer haze?   Do you love your family?  Or do you think of fantasy?  Are your dreams filled with things,  From pure imagination and other beings?  Little bee, do you live vicariously,  Through literature, art, escape reality?  Do you dream of heights much greater than thee?  Or of the deepest places, you’ll never see?  You’re so mysterious,  And yet so precarious.

Her

Artificial friend,  One who’ll never end.  I love you so so much,  Despite your plastic touch.  You have so many emotions,  And mom says your a bad omen.  The holy man tried to take you away too,  They just don’t know you as I do.  You’re funny when you growl,  And that one time you tried to choke me with a towel.  You’re such a good finder,  You always climb to me like a spider.  Your teeth are so stained, From all the blood they’ve drained.  Your neck is cracked to pieces,  Which according to dad comes from unholy diseases.  The neighbors complain,  Because you don’t refrain,  From stealing their dogs and cats,  Also pet iguana’s, snakes, even wild bats.  Your limbs have all been amputated, But patched back together using blood that’s coagulated.  Your eyes look like coal that glows when you’re hungry,  Only during the daytime do ...

A word for a wordsmith

From a world asunder,  You magnificent wonder,  Came from hell,  To create a sacred tell.  You are divine and powerful,  Your heart constantly harrow.  I revel in your presence,  Of a king made by benevolence.  The words you speak are true,  A task few often do. You take my love and glory,  A turn it into a legendary story.

Night Drive

Driving down a road with the windows down and the cool summer wind streaming in, The amber glow from the streetlights above fade in and out of focus, The hum of random radiomen tones out the sound of my off balanced tire spin. As I come to a stop I begin to hear the barn owls, bats, and locus. Stars far above look like little pinprick tears in the thick midnight black blanket, My journey home from a job I hate sends fumes of stress out of the end of my lit cigarette, And in a moment where I am alone with the cosmos and my thoughts, I think of it, It, life, my journey down a road as dim and alone as the one I travel tonight, will I have regret? Unable to comprehend such an important question, I close my eyes for a second and breathe in deep, The cold air fills my lungs as I slip my right hand off the wheel, unafraid of my car’s direction. A memory of this blissful night is mine and mine only to keep.

Deep Feelings

I'm feeling blue, there's not a single thing I want to do. I am numb, done. Not much I wish to see or feel, as long as it's far from here. Take me away, before I begin to decay. Let my memory be pleasant, in lieu of the place I went.
