Your Leave
I’m saddened at the thought of your leave,
Not because I’d forget the memories you’ve kindly allowed me to receive,
But instead, I will grieve,
Because of how much you make me believe…
Infinite happiness you bring,
When you speak, my lifeless winter is transformed into a perfect spring.
When you write it sparks excitement like the discovery of a fascinating new thing,
Time without your jokes and friendship sends me to the frigid winter where the birds don’t sing,
The music doesn’t have the same ring,
My mood is that of a kingdom who mourns the absence of its king,
To others, I do not cling,
I understand that you must catch the wind of life and soar with open wing,
Life will treat you so well that you will feel like a kid on a summer park swing,
Luck and Fortune will weave you a beautiful present made of gold string,
But until your return, I will feel a constant sting.
